Ten Million Friends Network is no longer active

Due to the Facebook restrictions on having 5000 friends, I have quit my goal using Facebook to achieve 10 million friends.

If you think this is sad, then please tell Facebook about it.

I am sorry, but it is Facebook's limitations which are frustrating.

Thank you,
Joe Malosovic

The Official Ten Million Friends Network Logo

I have created a basic logo for my initiative. I have added the word "network" because I hope this initiative to be a network whereby friends can contact other friends, and make more friends, and interact with people from all over the world. I have also changed the colour of my punch line "be part of internet history" to orange because its a more neutral colour, although having some properties of red and yellow. I hope you like it!

Clue 4: I volunteer

Here is my next clue. I am quite a regular volunteer nowadays, particularly during my holidays. And combine this with Clue 3 (I love technology), can you guess what sort of volunteering I do? Of course I am not going to fully elaborate on what sort of volunteering I do because it will be damn obvious to the people I know who I am. This clue thing is only getting started. So sorry to break the bad news.

But after I started volunteering, I feel that there is some hope in this world. I think everyone should volunteer at some stage in their life, and perhaps even once a week is good enough. The people appreciate it very much, and also it gives you great experience. I teach people specific skills I have, and they really do appreciate it. I do this once a week for about 1.5 hours, and I really enjoy it. I can the progression of improvement in the people that I teach, particularly the skills they have been practicing after I have taught them.

There is also excellent volunteering support in my community, and actually a friend encouraged me to do it. I try and do it as often as possible, but sometimes I cannot - so I tend to reschedule it to another time or day.

Another interesting thing about volunteering is I meet new people, and also I learn a lot from them as well. Some of the students are quite good at skills that I am not that great at, so we exchange ideas and experiences.

Besides volunteering today, I went to downtown to my old University. It was pretty cool to see the places I was, and also met up with some friends there for a quick coffee. Driving into downtown is not ideal, cost me heaps in parking fees, but it was worthwhile. The coffee catch up is the best kind of friendship catch up I think. Perhaps facebook should invite a coffee catch up application (hint hint). Hehehe.

I will catch up with you all soon, I am working on some other projects (unrelated to Ten Million Friends).

Youtube bug

I was watching some videos on Youtube, and noticed they have this 6th page (for most popular videos), and the one for "today" doesn't load for the 6th page.

Whoa, how often do you see a major website flunk out like this.

Cool. Did anyone else pick it?

Free hugs for everyone

Alright, I have figured out how to ask questions on Facebook so I have decided to hug everyone who answers my question. Its my way of paying them. I would hug everyone who adds me as a friend, but Facebook doesn't allow me to easily track who has added me as friends (I said easily, not that they do not!).

I have sent my first hug to: Cherie Be (who is bored like a potato). Thank you Cherie for being the first one to answer my question, and also thank you for the free drink!

Go on, answer my question and you will get a free MASSIVE HUG!

Australia has some more time because of Facebook's stupid rule

Australia has more time to add me as their friend because Facebook doesn't allow me to add any. My next move will be the US of A I think. Screw the East or West Strategy, I am going for gold here. Lots of people in the USA who will have more appreciation of my crazy idea.

Facebook has temporarily banned me from adding friends.

I don't get it, isn't Facebook meant to be about networking, adding friends. So why have I been temporarily dis-allowed to add more friends. Apparently, I have exceeded the limit of adding friends and inviting new friends. So, Facebook has somehow calculated the number of friends one can have in a set amount of time. This makes me wonder if Facebook has a technical flaw to not allow someone to have 10 million friends. What if they cap my friendship limit to like 10K or something. That wouldn't work well would it.

I know MySpace doesn't do that because of that Tom dude who automatically adds any new user to his friend list.

I hope Facebook takes me off this ban, which kind of sucks because people are interested in my endeavour and have supported me on Facebook. So Mr Zuckerberg (is that his name, the founder of Facebook), if you're reading this - unlock me from adding friends dude, it's really irritating me.

Barack Obama messaged me!

Ok, maybe not - but I caught your attention didn't I. I totally forgot to tell you all that Barack Obama on Facebook replied to my request for friendship. I have read, heard and watched so much about this dude, and his case for Presidency. He seems like an interesting person, someone who you can go out, have dinner and enjoy the night.

I am no political expert, but I believe he has captured America's attention. But it's going to be a tough time for him to win Presidency, with Clinton having all that expertise being first lady and all.

Either way, I think it will be Obama vs Clinton, and my prediction is that Clinton will win.

Anyway, back to my exciting story. I got a reply from a lady called Rebecca who works at Obama headquarters (this guy has his own headquarters) who wrote:

"Hi Joe,

Thanks for getting in touch and sharing your support. Unfortunately, as a politician Facebook, we can't add or accept friends--you can, however, "support this politician", which is basically the same thing as being a friend.

I hope this helps,
Rebecca @ Obama HQ"

Thanks Rebecca for replying to my sincere request. I have added as a supporter of Obama, although I have no idea about his policies so you can't count me in to vote for him or anything. None the less, thanks for your reply (never really expected one).

Joe Malosovich
Malosovich HQ
P.S.: How come it says Junior Senator on his wikipedia page. Isn't he running for President? I can't figure out American politics.

Just for the record

Oh, in case all of you think - locally all my friends, family know about my Ten Million Friends idea - you are WRONG!

I play by the rules, no one except me knows about my plan - and of course my faithful friends on Facebook.com

Besides, if I tell a few people - they will blow my cover. I really want this to be a mystery, and hopefully someone out there will figure out the clues. I guess the idea is, one of my friends will click onto this site and eventually realise what I am posting about is possibly what happened on the weekend when they were present, or is about the night we went out etc.

That day when it happens will be a classic, and Ten Million Friends will have hopefully achieved its goal.

My appointment (subliminal hint!)

I had an appointment today to meet someone near downtown area, and boy public transport in this city is crap. I had to catch a train, then a bus, then had to walk 1.5km to get to where I wanted to go. Then on my way back, I had to do some banking (sure enough that takes about an hour to find the bank itself), and then on my way back I had to wait for the bus for > 30mins.

I do have a car, but gas is expensive where I live (err...ummmm)

Lunch was great though, I went to this small bakery style place and they had nice baguettes all displayed. I really like it when you walk into a shop, and they present the food in a way which makes you want to eat. I had a massive baguette and then a 600ml Pepsi - WOW!

Then I saw this lady who was holding up a massive sign - which I couldn't read, it was so cluttered. I felt like saying to her that her advertising strategy is majorly flawed, but then released I was running late to get back home to check how many new Facebook friends I have made.

So far, I have received some great support from random people on Facebook who think my idea is novel, and cool. But there is a deeper meaning to all this, and that is - I am the best! (LOL - just kidding). What I meant to say is that it's amazing random people around the world are extending their arms to be friends with me - whom they haven't met, do not know anything about - isn't that amazing! Just to think, about 15-20 years ago this was not possible.

I am Joe Malosovich and I want to be your friend!

I'm so bored

Hi, just letting you know that I am still bored and this ten million thingy is still happening. Meanwhile, thanks to all those people adding me as their friend on Facebook.com.

P.S.: These times on my blog posts are totally out of whack.

Australia - I am Joe Malosovich and I want to be your friend!

Until now, I have had no real strategy for getting new friends on Facebook. From now on, I thought I will work on the following strategy. I will start with a country today, and then work on that country for a few days (or until I get bored of the people on Facebook from that country) and then randomly select people from another country.

I have been reading about the APEC summit quite a bit lately so I thought why not start with Australia. Looks and sounds like a great country, although I'm not a great fan of that guy who dresses in khaki - Steve Irwin and handles reptiles (what kind of a crazy job is that!). I hear he was a nice guy.

Anyway I am attacking Australia, and asking all Facebook Aussies to be my friends!

I am Joe Malosovich and I want to be Australia's friend!

This is not a Facebook Marketing Scheme!

I found this guy who picked up my video on Youtube, and wrote a bit about it. Actually he only wrote a few words here and there. But there's a valuable back link to my blog from his site - WOHOO!

But dude, this is not a Facebook Marketing Scheme (Facebook rules, you shall use Facebook, you shall breathe Facebook, you shall eat Facebook - ok scrap that last part).

Seriously though, I am in no way affiliated with Facebook. My first experience of Facebook was when I joined it to create Ten Million Friends. So, a big no no to Facebook marketing scheme theory. You'd have to come up with something better than that.

But thanks for watching my video dude! Spread the word, and be my friend on Facebook. Don't use Multiply, use Facebook!

Clue 3: I love technology

Ok, time for clue 3. I have been leaving my fans high and dry, and not keeping them busy. The next clue is my love for technology. I adore it. Not because I want to sleep with it or anything, but I think technology holds the final key to solve the world's problems. Add to technology a bit of science, and you have a winning formula.

With the internet, web technology has become so powerful so its just wise for everyone to adopt it. Of course it has become part and parcel of my life, its amazing. With this ten million friends thingy, I am practically on the internet vainly seeing how many clicks my blog, my youtube videos are getting. Yes, vain indeed, but tell me you haven't done it after posting a video on youtube, or setting up your website.

I really have an appreciation for technology. I love reading as well, and reading about the latest gadgets, or internet sensation becomes very exciting. I found this video on Youtube about the most famous internet people: the graphics is amazing. I thought you might like to check it out. Hopefully my blog posts won't be accompanied by a video, but if its interesting then you will find it here.

Have you figured it out yet? I hope not, because I am no way close to reaching ten million friends on Facebook.com (P.S.: Facebook you rule!). Note that if you are my friend, I have been interacting with you when you post questions etc, so this is about friendship as much as being the next big internet thing - and also setting a world record for friendship (even though its online - hey maybe we will have our own ten million friends convention).

This guy has a more realistic goal

This guy as a more realistic goal on MySpace, although his myspace page is bloody annoying with all that loud useless music. Whats the deal buddy?

Also he revealed his identity which makes it less interesting for people. Besides, I am Joe Malosovich, and I am better than him so my idea will work.

Anyway I have attached his video for you nutties who like MySpace. Facebook rules, My Space sucks!

Facebook problem last 2 days

Oh my god, this is so irritating. I almost defected to MySpace, but that Tom dude has like a 100 million friends already so I thought there wont be much point. I have stuck with facebook. I was able to log into Facebook today after almost 48 hours of problems with my computer. The computer gave me the blue screen treatment, which meant I had to back up the computer and then randomly try and have a go at reinstalling windows.

Never done it before, but finally managed to do it and Im back online baby.

Ok, fine my facebook ten million friends has not gone to plan. Actually it totally has sucked so far, but my video has been viewed 500+ times on Youtube, so not bad for a first time youtuber.

I have been reading a lot of this APEC summit these days. Georgey went to Australia, and I was kind of hoping he didnt make a total fool of himself, but I was proven wrong. Check out the youtube video featured below, he mentions ÖPEC in stead of APEC. Maybe his vested interests in oil, and the middle east oil fields accidently showed through at the wrong time.

Anyway, maybe I wont be getting 10 million friends on Facebook before my annual leave finishes, but I am persisting with this. I think its a good idea, and I think it will spread the message of piece. This means, I will need to reveal my clues much more slowly, but I will be posting as usual with interest tit bits, and also some of my daily happenings.

Drop me a line at: tenmillionfriends@gmail.com

I am Joe Malosovich, and I want to be your friend! Meanwhile George Bush is an idiot!

Facebook is not working for me

I have been trying to log into Facebook.com, but its not working for me. I will try again later. I miss Facebook, and all my friends. I have added my Facebook profile to the right of this blog, so you can directly check it out and add me as your friend and make the world a better place.

I have an extremely busy day tomorrow, will be out for the whole day pretty much. Family commitments. Need to spend time with the family I suppose, once in a while.

I am Joe Malosovich and I am a friendaholic.

The hair cut went great

The hair cut went great, although the guy doing it was a bit of a weirdo. I went to this new place, much closer to my house (than my usual place which is miles away). He asked me the usual questions like what do you do?, where do you come from?, and all of a sudden started talking about his friend having a baby, and if I get stressed at work! What the hell was that?

I came out of it with a nice hair cut (although he screwed by burns a bit but thats ok, I have my own equipment to correct it), and felt a bit weird.

Speaking of hair cuts, I found this picture (attached to blog post) on the internet (a set of tubes as one US Senator stated recently). Classic!

Clue 2: Going for a haircut

Ok, I really can't be bothered making any more videos on Youtube. Youtube, if you are listening, make a software program that allows you to make videos, rather than using crappy software that is out there. I do not have any software, hence my ranting. The whole process is so boring as well, especially if I cannot put my face or anything that identifies me too easily on it. So I thought I might as well be giving out clues through my blog. My friend count has soared to 24 on Facebook, when I checked this morning, which is not bad. But I was expecting it to be more. Then again, I really have not promoted this thing hugely.

I am going for a hair cut right now - so can you track me down? I really need this hair cut, been putting it off for so long but people are starting to look at my thickened side burns and cringe.

Oh, and if Barack is reading this - add me as your friend. I am supporting your campaign on Facebook (mainly because I hope to receive a reciprocal friendship invite), but I'll take a good look around your profile to see who you really are. I might end up voting for you after all if your policies are good.

Damn it, almost missing my hair cut appointment. Gotta roll!

I have been thinking a lot lately

Today, I went for a walk (for a few hours in fact), and apart from being completely wasted now, I thought more deeply about why I am doing this? Is this a big joke, or something more deep in meaning and creation?

To be honest, I thought of the idea in a flash and then decided to go ahead with it. But ever since I have met friends through Facebook.com, I noticed a few things. They are all from all parts of the globe. Facebook is an American organization, but I think it's great they created a website so simple in concept, but so big in reality (but I still wish I had created it and made that much money - you bastards! :-)).

Well, I want this to be a few things:
1. A monument to friendship of human beings.
2. A challenge for myself
3. A statement to the world that we can all live and interact together in harmony (i.e.: we don't need bombs!)
4. A super PR effort for Facebook even though I am in no way connected to Facebook.com, and I so wish I created the site and made billions.
5. A mystery as well, a unique experience for people to connect with what I am saying but yet know so little about me.

One of the things I noticed during my walk today was a small baby, possibly 2 years old. The baby was strolling along, without a care in the world. When you think about all the destruction that is happening around the world, I thought to myself - man this baby is in for a ride of its life. But the baby was living the moment, interacting with its mom, and passersby (including me! :-)).

This is the innocence and friendship that we should all aspire to have.

I am Joe Malosovich, and I want to be your friend! (Friend count: 14)

Nothing much for today

I got a pretty busy day ahead of me today, so you won't be hearing from me after this post for a few hours. What am I doing? Nothing much really, but its pretty busy. Who am I? What am I doing today? Its all part of the process, the clue process.

Meanwhile, I looked at the stats for my video and its not bad. My first video has been viewed: 446 times, and the second video has been viewed a grand 12 times.

Also I have hit a grand number of 4 new friends on Facebook.com, from different parts of the world I might add. But it has been quite slow, so I need to think of something grand to up the ante a bit.

Stay focused Joe, you can do it.

Clue 1- Empty Glass of Milk

So, the race begins. You thought I was joking right. No I aint! This is for real. I have posted my 2nd video on YouTube.com, and hidden in it are some clues as to who I really am. Here's another big hint, to find out more about me to solve the case you need to add me to your Facebook.com account. The more people that add me, the more discussions, and clues that can be figured out and better yet, the closer we get to reaching our target. Do you see where I am going with this?

The trick with this is that the closer you get to figuring out who I am, then eventually you should be networking with people that I know which means they will notice similarities in these blog posts and videos to who I really am. C'mon people, you get 3 weeks to do it so get moving.

So let me break down the structure of my videos. It will start with a Title stating the obvious clue. The video will not contain any human images, or pictures, but a simply object to highlight a major clue. That object relates to my life is some way, and to make it more interesting I will break down the clue right here on the Official Ten Million Friends Blog. Oh, and if you're wondering that's not my real voice. Nice try!

So without further wait, here's my 1st clue: Empty Glass of Milk

What better way to start than Youtube.com

Ok, I really suck at making videos. As I sit here listening to R.Kelly's - Im a Flirt (damn good song), I thought I will make a short 10 second video highlighting my dream. Oh, what is that at the end of the video? Can you figure it out? That's right, I have secrets hidden all along the way. So here is the finished, crummy version (I can't be bothered making it better). I present you, Ten Million Friends on Facebook.com:

Welcome to TenMillionFriends Official Blog!

I just started my annual leave from work. My annual leave extends for 3 weeks, so I thought - what the heck, why not create Internet history. Besides, I woke up this morning feeling so empty. I was so bored out of my wits, so I thought I will obtain 10 million friends during the course of my annual leave. Of course, it would be brilliant to achieve this goal but let's face, reality suggests otherwise.

Reality always wins unfortunately. But my goal is to obtain (legitimately) 10 million new friends. There are a number of ways I could go about this, including: 1. Ringing 10 million people, 2. Throwing out leaflets, 3. Just sit and wait, 4. Or through Facebook.com

Facebook seems to be all the craze these. Now the simple rule is this, I cannot cheat my way into it, and that everyone needs to add me as a friend (and vice versa) legitimately. Of course, we are going for the world record.

Oh, also I have more in store. So let's begin my annual leave project. My name is Joe Malosovich and I want to be your friend!
